Boulder County's Thriving Market and Mid-Year Report

July in Boulder County is hot as usual, in terms of local temperatures, but our real estate market is cooling down a bit. Demand has softened and inventory has increased, bringing about a bit of welcome normalcy. The articles this month reflect a theme of change in the air. Amazon bought Whole Foods? Yes! How will our local shopping experiences and commercial real estate market be impacted by this? There's also a construction worker shortage that is affecting the pace at which new construction can be built to accommodate those migrating to Colorado. FROM THE TRAIL - PART ELEVEN

Hi friends, Happy New Year! I'm coming to you this month of January, not from the trail or the river, but from our 1964 Dodge pickup. My knee is repairing from an injury and so that's why this month is FROM THE TRUCK. Kristin and I  and our friend Lynn chose three words to help guide us through this new year: Patience. Discover. Capture. We're going to try to recall and embrace these words when necessary. You can try, too. Feel free to subscribe to my channel or like my video. I hope you enjoy! Have a happy new year, HATCH

My iPhone vibrated on the wood surface of the bedside table at the Snowmass condo we were vacationing in. “RACE CANCELLED!” is what the email read at 6:03am. Ugh, I grumbled, seriously? We’ve had a glorious fall season with abundant sunshine, deep blue skies and vibrant foliage. And the sunsets? Unreal! But it seems like the one weekend we actually had rain, snow and cold temps, was the weekend of my Annual Aspen Golden-leaf Half Marathon. Snow that had fallen overnight pushed organizers to cancel the race for safety reasons. My friend Paolo and I were disappointed. We’d trained hard for the race, but we were reminded that mother nature can change the game and alter your plans.

It’s mid July, and Oh My, summer is cruising by. Life goes by so fast this time of year with so much happening all these long days. Between kid’s sports, outdoor recreating, awesome backyard time and staying plugged in hard at work, it’s no wonder the days blend into one another. But I don’t take any of it for granted. I love it! I just got off the river with my son Ethan and his cousin from Vermont. We had such a good time and we all got burned in the sizzling sunshine. But it felt good. I hope your summer has been great, too.

This month’s Buzz has summer stats and interesting information about the potential future of Boulder County. Enjoy the articles, and as always, please contact me anytime to discuss any aspect of real estate in your neck of the woods. And thank you all for your frequent referrals, I couldn’t do this without you. All the best, HATCH
